Help Our Chapter
Safe Families for Children (SFFC) is a volunteer run and professionally supported agency. We encourage those interested in engaging through volunteering to consider their availability and strengths. There are several typical volunteer roles which an individual or family can commit to in order to assist in supporting local families.
- Host Family: Host families take children into their home on a voluntary, temporary basis while a family is working through a difficult life circumstance. Host families are screened through a background check, fingerprinting, references, and a home safety check. If you and your family is interested in becoming a host family, please submit an application to begin the authorization process.
- Family Friend: Host families take children into their home on a voluntary, temporary basis while a family is working through a difficult life circumstance. If you and your family is interested in becoming a host family, please submit an application to begin the authorization process.
- Family Coaches: We are always in need of more coaches who can support the host family and child in placement, help resource the parent in need, and facilitate family visits. Learn more about this volunteer role.
- Resource Friend: We store gently used children’s clothing, diapers, wipes, and baby equipment so that our host families have the supplies they need when they take in a child. Any donations would be helpful.
- Participating Church: If you attend a church who you believe would fit into the vision and mission of SFFC, please connect us to your pastor or appropriate staff person! See what it takes to be a Safe Families Church.
Please contact our local office if you are interested in becoming a part of the SFFC movement.
